Unnamed Sans RNG Distortion Encounter Guide
Cultist, the sigil, a 1/2.2M spawn, and a teleport that players report as broken.
Distortion is the sigil hunt, not the Hellbreaker. Community spawn odds sit around 1/2.2M. You do not roll that number with a button. You become eligible, then you click a spawn like every other Sans in Unnamed Sans RNG. Eligibility is a chain: index toward 100k, take a Void Star in Ruins, talk to Cultist, hold the Sigil of Invocation, then wait.
If any link in that chain is missing, Distortion is someone else’s clip. Read Getting Started for the counter, controls if you still miss clicks, and True Dust only when you mean the other boss.
Gates before Distortion can exist
Sans collected must be near 100k. Open normal settings, go right twice, and read the number. Guessing from memory is how people stand in front of Cultist with 99k and a brother’s two stars. The kill count is yours. The star is yours.
One Void Star is the other Cultist fee. Ruins only. Chat must say the void star beckons you. Click the crown or orb right of the huge door, on the right wall, or in the back corner outside the map. Community chance around 1/10 while the message is up. Despawns on biome change. Details stay on Void Star so this page does not re-teach Ruins.
Cultist hands the Sigil of Invocation when both fees are paid. Player reports: if you already qualify, he stays until the interaction, then despawns. The sigil is likely permanent once received. People have asked whether a later rare wipes it; reports lean no, but do not throw the item on purpose.
Distortion then has a chance to spawn at about 1/2.2M. Luck from Premium, Server Luck, and Biome Luck still stacks for Sans quality on luck bonuses. Treat 1/2.2M as a community Distortion figure, not as Void Star math, and not as True Dust’s 1/689713.
Watch an encounter, a kick, and the fight load
The video below is a real Distortion encounter and fight attempt. Watch it for the eligibility reminder in the description-level facts (sigil from Cultist, 100k kills, one Void Star) and for the ugly part: the player gets kicked while loading into the fight and has to be restored. That is not a joke intro. Distortion’s teleport-to-fight has been reported bugged. Community shorthand is distortion does NOT work. Plan as if the teleport can fail even after a clean spawn.
Use the tape to learn what a valid spawn looks like before you sit six hours in a public that cannot activate the sigil. In public, players report the sigil may auto-activate only if every player on the server already has it. A five-person box where one tourist lacks the sigil can stall the encounter you waited a week for. That is a player report, not a patch note, and it matches enough screenshots that you should not ignore it.
After the video, decide two things: whether your whole server is sigil-ready, and whether you will treat a failed teleport as “try again” instead of a deleted account. Then go back to clicking. Distortion is still a spawned Sans. You still have to land the click. Mobile makes that click worse; see controls.
Public activation and private boxes
Six-player online servers are the default. There is no split-screen. If you own a VIP server and Roblox still sells one, ;stopspawns from private servers keeps extra Sanses off the rare. ;cmds lists owner tools. VIP spawn is something players mention; it is not a documented Distortion skip. The Roblox API has recently shown createVipServersAllowed=false, so the buy button may be missing. When VIP is gone, your tools are quiet publics and friends who already hold the sigil.
Do not AFK the instant a Distortion model appears. People have lost the spawn that way. Do not open a script menu over the model; read script safety if that was the plan. Do not invite a no-sigil friend “just to watch” if you believe the all-sigil public rule.
Fighting Distortion when the teleport works
If the teleport succeeds, fight it like a high-end Sans, not like True Dust’s deathless soul check. Distortion does not copy the Hellbreaker’s “anyone dies, no soul” rule on this wiki’s facts. Bring a weapon you already trust from the weapon tier list: Ink Brush, Justice Gun, Code Manipulator, or whatever you actually land clicks with. Dodge first. Screenshot the index after. Soul cubes still only recolor a soul.
If the teleport fails, you did not brick the sigil by looking at it. Rejoin, confirm the sigil is still in the collection, and hunt again. Log the bug for yourself so you do not spend a night blaming Cultist. Studio pauses and badge reworks are on update history; they explain why some payouts feel unfair, not how to skip the 100k.
When Distortion finally indexes, you can go back to True Dust with one less tab open. Keep the guides hub for the next secret. Distortion was the sigil test. The Hellbreaker is the deathless test. They share a map. They do not share a checklist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What do I need before Distortion can spawn?
About 100k Sans kills, one Void Star, and the Sigil of Invocation from Cultist. Get the star from Void Star first.
What is Distortion's spawn rate?
Community reports put it around 1/2.2M after you hold the sigil. That is not Void Star’s 1/10 message chance and not True Dust’s ~1/689713.
Why won't my sigil activate in public?
Players report it may auto-activate in public only if every player already has the sigil. A tourist without one can stall the encounter. Friends or private servers avoid that.
Is the Distortion fight bugged?
The teleport-to-fight has been reported bugged, including kicks during load. Community line: distortion does NOT work. Treat a failed teleport as a known risk, not a deleted sigil.
Does Cultist despawn?
If you already meet the requirements, players say he stays until the interaction, then despawns. The sigil is likely permanent after that.
Is Distortion the same as True Dust?
No. True Dust is THE HELLBREAKER with a deathless soul rule. Use True Dust for that fight.
